USANA is a home-based business opportunity that is cashing in on the nutritional revolution. Although USANA offers high bulk dmae-bitartrate products, I chose not to get involved because their compensation plan doesn't stack up to the competition.

Company History

USANA was founded in the early 1990s by Dr. Myron Wentz. Dr. Wentz is a well-known authority when it comes to the science and nutrition fields. Dr. Wentz strongly believes in the "science of prevention through proper supplements and diet." USANA has grown to become one of the leading companies in the health and nutrition industry.

Product Line(s)

Macro Optimizers - This product line consists of a healthy source of carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats, based on high quality soy protein which may provide complete and balanced amino acids.

Optimizers - These are extensive, state-of-the-art nutritional products that allows an individual to customize their nutritional program to meet their specific needs.

Essentials - These products are advanced daily nutritional supplements that supply nutrition for individuals of every age.

Additional products - Natural toothpaste and a complete skin-care line add to the products that USANA markets.

Business Opportunity

Upon signing up with USANA, you become a distributor and must recruit others to create your own downline. The compensation plan that USANA offers is known as a "Binary Compensation Plan." This means you must create two downlines, known as your "left" and "right" organizations. When you create these downlines, you get paid on the volume of product that flows through your team. Unfortunately, in order to make a substantial income with USANA, you are going to have to recruit a lot of people (like your friends and family), attend product parties and hotel presentations, host and attend home meetings and attend company trainings. This is where USANA completely loses it's appeal as a home-based business! As you can see, it's not a "home-based" business at all!
